Happy Birthday

Today was a very special day, Josh's Birthday!

Daphne loved looking at her daddy's Birthday candles. Josh wanted his favorite cake, Dairy Queen ice cream cake. Actually, it was a butterfinger blizzard cake.

I didn't realize that I had purchased "trick" candles. We had to throw them in a glass of water in order for them to stop going off. Josh's was getting frustrated.

She was super happy to be able to celebrate her daddy's birthday. Peter was walking around very proudly of his Dairy Queen bag. He does this all the time with napkins, the mail, and anything he can carry around the house.

Daphne and I got Josh his watch he has been admiring.

Josh received a very nice wool scarf from my mom.

All in all, Josh says that he had a wonderful birthday and wouldn't change anything about it!!
Oh, yeah, Happy New Year!!

Happy Baby

Daphne has always been a happy baby but lately she is smiling ALL the time, giggling at so much stuff and talking up a storm. She is just such a happy baby!!

I'm thinking she will be getting a tooth soon too because she is putting everything in her mouth. She also is biting down and not sucking.

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas morning opening gifts and listening to Christmas Carols. Daphne loved all of her new toys, books, and clothes. She loves having her new books read to her and to hear all the sounds that come from her books too.

Daphne was given a giraffe stacker and she loves to wear the rings around her arms. She then shakes her arms to hear the jingle noises they make. She was also fascinated by her musical inch worm.

She was full of smiles all day so we started to call her our Happy Christmas Baby!

Not only is today special because of Christmas, but it was also Josh's mom's birthday. We decided to swing by the house to surprise Robin with birthday wishes. While we were there Daphne was able to meet her Aunt Jenny and had lots of fun.

Happy Birthday Grandma Robin

Once we were back home, Daphne sat in her bumbo seat while I started dinner. She was very cute playing with her new teething toys. She also couldn't take her eyes off of the decorations I had hung on the kitchen table light. They are glittery snowflakes that she loved to look up at.

Josh and I would like to thank everyone for helping to make Daphne's first Christmas so special. It is one we will never forget. We hope that all our family and friends had a wonderful and safe Christmas!

Happy Christmas Eve

Josh, Daphne and I were able to share a special time with my mom over the computer to open gifts together. Daphne loves her new puppet friend Al the giraffe that was given to her from her Grandma.

My mom surprised Daphne and me with a very special gift, my dad's wedding ring. It is now two rings that Daphne and I share. I can't wait til she is older and I can share the story with her about her ring and mine and where they came from and why they are so special.

4 Months Old (a little early)

Updates:

Daphne had her 4 month check up today. She did great until they gave her the dreaded shots! Her head is measuring 16 cm, she is 24 1/2 inches long, and her weight was 12 lbs 5 oz. She loves to stand up with help and has started to bounce too. She is rolling over from her tummy to her back and is not quit there from her back to tummy. Although, we don't know if she ever will because she can't stand to be on her tummy! She has been eating her cereal for 3 weeks now and is doing great with it. We have added bananas to it for the last 2 weeks and she devours it with excitement! She is smiling and laughing a lot more too. She is ticklish on her tummy and loves to smile and giggle at the dogs when they play together. It has been amazing for Josh and I to see her grow and develop and can't wait to see what she does next!!

We are getting very excited for Daphne's first Christmas. It will be a nice quiet Christmas at home for the three of us. We couldn't ask to be more blessed this holiday season and are so grateful for our health, family and friends! We wish everyone miles away a very Merry Christmas and can't til we are together next year!!

This is Daphne's hand print ornament that we made for her first Christmas. We hope it will hold up for years to come.

Josh and I took Daphne to the Denver Zoo to see the zoo lights. We somehow managed to skip an entire part of the lighting exhibit. "Oh well, I'm sure they look about the same as all the other lights did", says Josh.

Thornton's Winter Fest

Every year Josh and I attend Thornton's Winter Festival. We always have a great time walking around enjoying the lights and all the Christmas decorations. This year it was extra special since we were able to share it with Daphne. They have had ice sculptures the last two years and this year it was of Santa's reindeer and his sleigh, it was very impressive and cute. It's too bad it doesn't really feel like Christmas because this was the only day that was somewhat cool (40 degrees). It has been in the 60's everyday so far for the month and a couple days in the 70's. We are really hoping that we will get some snow at some point this winter!
