8 Months / Happy Easter

Josh and I started off our weekend with taking Daphne to church on Saturday morning for an Easter Egg hunt. Josh took Daphne to see some clowns while I waited in the small chapel. There are no pictures of this part of the event for obvious reasons. They had a good time singing songs and dancing. Then we started the hunt.

Daphne did a great job finding the eggs and then liked chewing on them!

After church, Daphne had her first of many trips to come into "the windy city". Our first stop was to Millennium Park

Our last stop for the day before going home was to Navy Pier. It was very crowded but we did luck out on choosing such a beautiful day to go.

Daphne turned 8 months old on Easter Sunday. She is crawling around everywhere and having such a fun time exploring. At times she will crawl on one knee and use one foot. Because of this I am thinking that she will be walking around in a couple months. I will have more updates on her after her 9 month well check.

Daphne enjoyed bouncing in her new Jumperoo. We all had a great time watching Ellison, Jack, Nolan and Daphne play together.

Four Generations!!

Family filled Weekend

We started our weekend off by taking the family to Busse Woods for a nice walk. The dogs really needed it and so did we. Josh and I had a long week of unpacking, getting settled and Josh starting back at work in a new office. We are enjoying our new apartment and enjoying our new neighborhood. The train is just blocks away along with tons of amazing restaurants and shops. We even have a swimming pool just a block away that we can't wait to use in the summer heat!

Josh, Daphne and I are very happy to call Illinois our home! We are pretty sure that Bosco and Pete are enjoying it too. We are so pleased to be welcomed back home by family, friends, lush green spring grass and trees!

On Saturday afternoon we headed to Jason and Sadaf's house. We had a wonderful time catching up and watching Daphne play with her cousin Layla.

On Sunday, we headed to my mom's house to play. Daphne really enjoyed setting with her daddy looking at the pond in my mom's backyard. I couldn't get over how cute they looked together.

She didn't seem to mind the feeling of the grass and loved picking up leaves and sticks.

We have tried Daphne in the swing a couple times but she never enjoyed it, that is until yesterday! After my mom's, we went to Jonathan and Erin's for more play time and dinner. They also wanted to welcome Josh to his new home.

Ellison also loves to swing. Here is Daphne with her cousins Ellison and Nolan. We don't think that Nolan liked the feeling of the grass on his legs and feet.

New life in the Windy City!!

Daphne is 7 months old and is doing wonderful! She is having a great time visiting with her Grandma and meeting her Gigi, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She did great on her first flight and has been adjusting beautifully to her new city. We found an apartment in Arlington Heights and Daphne and I are super excited for her Daddy and puppies to arrive in a few days. We are looking forward to our family being back together and getting started in a new city together!

Daphne has 2 teeth now and is showing signs of getting ready to crawl in the near future! I will be posting more pictures with another update once we getting settled in our new home.

6 Months Old

Daphne is 6 months old today and very happy to be wearing her adorable cupcake party dress from her Grandma! She is loving all of her baby food and at times will eat multiple jars to fill her up. I am super excited to be able to start her on 2nd foods and some of the other cereals. She is doing great with sitting up all on her own. She topples here and there because she will see something she has to have and in reaching for it she tips over. Still no real signs of teeth but we think they will be coming soon due to all the drooling and chewing she does. She did great at her check up today until it was shot time, Daphne was also able to get her first flu shot today too!

Daphne's 6 month stats:

Weight - 14 pounds 1 ounce
Length - 27 inches long
Head - 16 inches or 41 cm

Daphne loves to play on the ground with her toys, read books, and she has even watched a couple of episodes of Word World which really grabs her attention.
