The Month of May

It has been a long time since I've posted, so, I have a lot to catch up on. This post is going to go over the month of May. Since the weather has warmed up, Josh has started fishing. It has become one of his favorite hobbies. He is trying out some different areas but I think he is having the best luck at Lake Barrington. He tries to fish when we go visit my mom. He is mostly catching large mouth bass, in between he will get some small mouth bass, blue gill, and he has even caught a northern pike. I don't have a photo to show the northern pike but it was quit large in size. Around 2 1/2 feet in length!

Here is Josh on mothers day fishing at my mom's house in Lake Barrington.

Daphne is very playful and loves to crawl around and explore everything! She is pulling herself up every chance she gets. She has also started to walk along the furniture! She loves to play and laughs at Bosco and Pete all the time.

Daphne is a great eater and will eat just about everything we do!

These pictures are from Memorial Day and my birthday. I feel very lucky to have a parade on my birthday! I was so glad to be able to share it with Josh and Daphne since moving back.

Daphne was relaxing before the parade started. It was also the first chance she was able to wear her new sun hat from her grandma.

Daphne really enjoyed all the people and the noises coming from the parade. She also had one of the best views from her daddies shoulders!

Our proud soldiers

There were also may veterans to whom we owe many thanks.

Me and Daphne enjoying the celebration.

After the parade we walked to Memorial Park where they hold a special ceremony for all the soldiers and their families. It was very hot so we didn't stay for the entire ceremony. We live very close to the parade route and the park so we walked to and from.

Daphne was so tired after all the excitement. After the parade and park I decided that I wanted to spend some time at the Arlington Park Race track. It is very beautiful and so much fun!

Daphne didn't last too long in the heat! She did enjoy some cheerios while watching the horses. She had three bottles of water in a four hour time period due to the heat. We kept her covered as much as possible and had her lathered with sun screen too.

And they're off!!

I had a great birthday and a wonderful Memorial Day.
It is so nice to be able to share it with my family!

8 Months / Happy Easter

Josh and I started off our weekend with taking Daphne to church on Saturday morning for an Easter Egg hunt. Josh took Daphne to see some clowns while I waited in the small chapel. There are no pictures of this part of the event for obvious reasons. They had a good time singing songs and dancing. Then we started the hunt.

Daphne did a great job finding the eggs and then liked chewing on them!

After church, Daphne had her first of many trips to come into "the windy city". Our first stop was to Millennium Park

The Bean

Daphne for a stroll enjoying a bottle.

One of our stops was to see Buckingham Fountain.

Daphne finally fell asleep after long walks throughout the city.

Our last stop for the day before going home was to Navy Pier. It was very crowded but we did luck out on choosing such a beautiful day to go.

Easter Sunday at Grandma's house.

Daphne turned 8 months old on Easter Sunday. She is crawling around everywhere and having such a fun time exploring. At times she will crawl on one knee and use one foot. Because of this I am thinking that she will be walking around in a couple months. I will have more updates on her after her 9 month well check.

Daphne enjoyed bouncing in her new Jumperoo. We all had a great time watching Ellison, Jack, Nolan and Daphne play together.
